to the tune of
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Once upon a time in Greece
Thinking started to increase
Philosophers would start to say
Why does Nature act this way?
Each of them thought truth to be
Nature is a unity.

Oneness had to start somewhere
Some said water, some said air
Some said number, shape and tone
Some said emptiness alone
But as Science got more answers
Those old thinkers lost their chances.

to the tune of
Pop Goes the Weasel

Earth is not the center of things
The sun is in the middle
Not the way folks thought it would be
Copernicus solved this riddle.
And Kepler showed there was a plan
That spaced the planets neatly
Galileo aimed his 'scope
And sealed the deal completely.

Newton saw an apple fall
And though the moon was bigger
He saw they showed the self-same law
Gravity, he figured.
And everything that moves will go
Unless there's something stops it
And everything that's stopped with stay
Until a new force prompts it.

Maxwell saw connection 'tween
Magnetic and electric
When wavelength's short and frequency's high
The wave's more energetic
But anyway it's always light
And travels just as quickly
Whether it's in x-ray form
Or microwaving...whiskey!
